Solutions for Heavy Periods
Updated: Apr 27
Many women needlessly suffer with heavy menstrual bleeding, thinking that it's "normal" or "part of being a woman". This heavy monthly bleeding can lead to anemia and fatigue, but also be very disruptive to one's daily activities.
Detailed discussion of symptoms, physical exam and imaging studies can lead to identification of causes most of which have effective treatment options. These include medications, IUD's and minor surgical procedures. These include minimally invasive surgeries like hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and endometrial ablation. Occasionally, more major surgeries like hysterectomy is needed, but this can also be accomplished with a minimally invasive approach.
